Whats Old is New

I used to be a bicycle technician by trade. And, if I'm being honest, anything with wheels catches my eye.

This bike in-particular, an old Soma, is a bike thats been around for some time and definitely seen a lot of miles. To the untrained eye, may just seem like another bike. But, if you were to look a little closer, you'll start to see a lot of unique parts that have been hand-picked by the owner to make it one of a kind.

While my wife and I were walking along the beach, I saw this bike and all I could think of was the amount of time and effort it would take to get a bike of this age to its current condition. A lot of TLC (Tender Loving Care) as they say. Plus, the ability to see past the age and wear and see what the bike could be. Now, a very reliable and beautiful commuter bicycle.

I think this bike compares very well to us and our talents. Don't let the failures and struggles in the attempt to improve our abilities and skills keep you from seeing your potential. With the right mindset, anything can be accomplished and things that seemed impossible or impractical before, might seem new and easy in new light.
